Since 1935, The Wilderness Society has worked to protect 112 million acres of wilderness and has focused on integrating equity into its mission since 2017. Similarly, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (founded in 1966) is dedicated to saving the Bay while prioritizing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) in its operations and restoration efforts.
